How to Create a Scrapbook

Scrapbooking is a hobby that brings out your inner artist and allows you to create something to treasure for generations to come. It is a great way to record memories and even day to day life becomes history when documented in a scrapbook.

Many different supplies are used in the creation of a scrapbook, including photos and memorabilia. It is important to preserve photos and memorabilia using safe methods and materials, as improper storage can lead to irreparable damage.

While a scrapbook can be created for any occasion, it is generally based on a theme. The most popular types of themes include family, holidays, vacations and babies’ first year.

Once a theme is selected, the next step is to select the photos and memorabilia that will be included in the album. Organize this material based on the stories you wish to tell and store it in labelled envelopes or folders for easy retrieval.

When selecting the photos, choose those that best capture the story you are trying to tell. If there is a lot of variation in the photo sizes, consider grouping and matting them for a unified look.

After choosing the photos, it is time to start creating the actual scrapbook page. Start by adding a background paper and then selecting the focal point photo. Next, choose a title and embellishments to go with the theme of the page. It is also a good idea to write a journaling to go with the page. This can be handwritten, printed or drawn on the page.
