The Basics of Scrapbooking

Scrapbooking is a creative activity that allows you to organize your photos and memorabilia into albums. These albums are then used to tell a story about a specific theme or event in your life.

One of the most important things about scrapbooking is that it helps to save memories. Often, we will look back at our old photos and wonder who was in them or where they were taken. A scrapbook will help to put that information together in an organized manner and make it easy to find.

In addition to that, scrapbooking also helps us to be creative and feel accomplished by what we have accomplished. It is not an easy task to create these beautiful pages and we should be proud of our accomplishments! This activity can be shared with a loved one and provides a wonderful experience.

You will need a few basic supplies to get started with scrapbooking. These supplies include background paper, a variety of pens (for journaling), paper trimmers and cutters, and acid-free glues. A slew of other craft materials are available including stickers, stamps, ribbon, gems and flowers.

The first step in creating a scrapbook page is to select the photos you wish to use on the page. Next, you can mat them with cardstock or patterned paper to give the photo more prominence. Finally, you will want to add any ephemera or other embellishments that will support the photo on the page.
